How do you get jobs fast? I understand many people say that there aren’t enough jobs out there but the truth is that there are also many companies out there looking for people to fill many job roles.

Unfortunately, most people don’t have the required skills and experience to fill these roles.

And those who have the skills and experience don’t have information about these job roles or where to find them.

In this post, I’ll share:

  1. Where to find these jobs
  2. How to increase your chance of getting employed

WHERE TO FIND THESE JOBS

You might have heard that you can get jobs via LinkedIn but you are probably wondering how. All you need is to set up job alerts.

To do this, click the Jobs icon at the top of your LinkedIn homepage.

After that, click “Manage alerts” under the search box at the top of the page.

According to LinkedIn, you can also edit or delete search alerts from the Job Alerts pop-up that appears.

If you don’t know how to do this, simply go to YouTube to learn more.

With this feature, I do get job alerts for different roles and for different countries that I set.

You can also use other platforms to set job alerts.

One of my favorites is Google Job Alerts.

All you need do is search for a job on Google search while logged in and you’d be able to set a job alert.

Again, let YouTube be your guide.

HOW TO INCREASE YOUR CHANCE OF GETTING EMPLOYED

Before you send your application letter or upload your CV, ensure you research the company and the roles they offer.

Must job listings would write the job descriptions and their pay range.

SOME RECOMMENDED READING:

However, you have to dig deeper.

Go to their website and learn more about the company.

For instance, if you’re to work in a hotel as a social media manager:

  • who will you be reporting to?
  • How many rooms does the hotel have?
  • Do they have restaurants? How many are they?
  • How about a swimming pool?
  • Who are their competitors?

You have to know these things because they can ask you during the interview sessions.

Learn more about their culture, values, board members, and even what other people say about them on social media.

Inasmuch as you’re looking for a job, you don’t want to work in a place with toxic bosses and staff.

After that, prepare your CV with a nice cover letter.

Now, your CV shouldn’t be a general one.

Ensure that your CV is tailored to the role you’re applying for.

Now, that you’ve sent your job application, wait for a reply. If no reply after a week or two, follow up on them except there is a clear time to get back to you.

Remember, the more companies you apply to, the better your chance.

Here is wishing you the best in your job application.
